For the first time on June 4, I shot an assignment for the New York Times. My phone lit up and I couldn't believe who was on the other end when I answered. I'm pretty confident when I say that it's just about every photojournalist's dream of being in the NYT.
I shot the pension and retirement fund meeting for the Detroit Police and Fire Department. Seeing the men and women that have selflessly served their city lose their benefits was absolutely heartbreaking. Funds being lost for these folks when funds can be found for a new stadium. I'll not step up onto the soapbox.
