One of the wonderful benefits of being a photographer and working with so many different folks is that you get to learn a little something each time you go and shoot. Whether it be about who you're photographing, what you're photographing, techniques, technicalities, etc.
One of the things that I learned about Lori at Bake Lodge when we made photos for her business, is that she makes AMAZING cakes. So good, in fact, that my fiancé and I had her bake one for our recent engagement party.
I recently had the pleasure of meeting up with Adam and Robert at Forge Detroit to make some images of them hard at work in their sweltering, new shop.
Working with creative, small businesses is always a lot of fun, especially when they're easy to work with and photograph, like these guys.
Can't wait to get back in the shop and make some more imagery!
It's pretty rare that I shoot a wedding. Generally I don't shoot them unless I know at least one of the people getting married. I've never really made an effort to promote or pursue wedding work as I don't really feel that it's a good fit for me.
When people you care about get married and ask you to make images of their wedding, you get yourself a gorgeous date and you drive your ass 10 hours south through the night to make it happen.
Couldn't be happier for Mike, Lori and their family.
