Tips and tricks to help you on your upcoming photoshoot.Read More
One of the wonderful benefits of being a photographer and working with so many different folks is that you get to learn a little something each time you go and shoot. Whether it be about who you're photographing, what you're photographing, techniques, technicalities, etc.
One of the things that I learned about Lori at Bake Lodge when we made photos for her business, is that she makes AMAZING cakes. So good, in fact, that my fiancé and I had her bake one for our recent engagement party.
I recently had the pleasure of meeting up with Adam and Robert at Forge Detroit to make some images of them hard at work in their sweltering, new shop.
Working with creative, small businesses is always a lot of fun, especially when they're easy to work with and photograph, like these guys.
Can't wait to get back in the shop and make some more imagery!
Again, it's been too long since I've updated. Currently, Nik and I are neck-deep in home renovations to prepare for our engagement party (!) and things have been absolutely crazy.
Hope you enjoy a strand of mini-galleries from recent, and not-so-recent, assignments and shoots.

Nik and I also took our first trip together to Universal Orlando to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter amongst other attractions. An absolute blast. A great way to celebrate our engagement.
Well, it's been over a year since I've updated my blog. A few things have changed since then.
I took a small hiatus (sort of) from journalism and found myself working a full time job with mediocre pay and even less appreciation. I was making imagery in an industry I really thought I'd enjoy and perhaps I would've. If I would've had the support I thought I was going to get.
So after a falling out, I've been back in the journalism world and it's great.
I'm up near Flint these days, and covering stories there, mainly for FlintSide, a small, online magazine that is hyper-focused on the community. Which is just what I need/want.
The biggest change is that I'm not only shooting, but writing as well. It's a massive challenge for me, but there are definite benefits of writing my own stories. Among those, becoming a better shooter because I'm not just looking for stills, but for stories.

In addition to that work, my lady and I are still kickin' it, we recently adopted a dog and I retired the VW.
All-in-all, things are great and I'm really excited to continue working in Flint and telling the stories of the folks in the city.
This is Oliver. He's eight. And a great dog.
